On the 26th April 2018, I am giving up my warm home and my bed for the night to sleep out under the stars to raise money and awareness for homeless charities. According to Shelter, homelessness across the West Midlands has increased by a staggering 22 per cent in a year. Many families live in hostels, temporary accommodation and even out on the streets through no fault of their own. 

This is something that I am very passionate about after experiencing homelessness first hand as a teenager, whilst I was pregnant aged 17 and after my son was born. My picture is of me and my son (he's now 16, 6 foot and in college!) and it seems like a lifetime ago. I wanted to show that people can work themselves out of homelessness just like I did, but it is a whole lot easier with a little help and support so if you can, please support this campaign. 

I am now lucky enough to be in a position to give something back and I believe that if we all pull together, we can end the homelessness crisis. I am here to do my bit and the CEO Sleepout seems like the perfect way for me to do this. 

There are many reasons why people end up homeless and these can be social (such as sudden unemployment) or due to life events such as domestic violence, family breakdown or teens leaving care. No one should be left with no where to go so I am asking for a donation towards my £1000 target. 

With help and support, people facing homelessness can get themselves back on track and I'm proof of that. Please show your support and donate now.

On another note, those of you who know me know that I do not cope well in the cold so I think I deserve to hit my target just for being brave enough to sign up!!
