My mum had spent a few days in bed ill so we phoned 111, expecting nothing much to come of it. After describing her symptoms, this was quickly turned into a 999 call and she was taken in an ambulance and admitted to Airedale hospital on the 7th of July. She was promptly moved to the high dependency unit, where she was soon diagnosed with meningitis.
She is now being cared for by catering staff, nurses and doctors who are all immensely concerned about her wellbeing and are looking after her so well.
Whilst the road to full recovery lays ahead of her, she wouldn’t be with us if it weren’t for the intensive care until of Airedale hospital.
