Story

I am taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 12th August.

Last year I started a little weekly walking club with my lovely work friends as I was avoiding the gym and wanted to keep fit on the lead up to getting married. After the wedding I wanted to keep pushing myself with walking by taking on bigger walks and more mountains. The overall aim became to walk the Yorkshire Three Peaks and now we are nearly here! Eeeeekkk!

Walking has made me realise how lucky I am to live in beautiful Yorkshire and to have the Dales, Moors and East Coast on my doorstep.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough!!! These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park... Yorkshire.. Yorkshire... Yorkshire!!

The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24-miles long, and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent... I am honestly soooo scared!!

I am doing this in memory of my lovely Grandparents who I miss so much. They were such a massive part of my life and losing them all so close together has been tough. I feel very lucky to have such lovely memories of them all... so would like to dedicate this walk to them and all those lovely memories.

I have chosen a charity that particularly supported and helped my Grandma Buzz.   St Gemma's Hospice.

St Gemma's Hospice are a Leeds-based charity providing expert care and support for local people with terminal illnesses. They offer specialist medical and nursing care to thousands of local people each year and offer invaluable support to their families and friends. They supported me and my family so much. The care they gave my grandma was incredible, at both the day centre and the hospice. All the services are completely free of charge, but this is only because of the fundraising people do. This is why it is so important to me to raise money for this amazing place as a thank you for the care and support they have given to me and my family and so they can continue as a charity to keep doing the same for others too!

Thank you soooooo much for reading my page and donating! Your support means the world!! ... Now bring on those peaks!!!

...my feet hurt just thinking about it! Haha! Wish me luck...
