Story

For the last two years SOS Chai has been turning up on the presqu’ile de Caen to provide a warm welcome to young refugee boys from around the world; hot and healthy meals, games, conversations, and practical support such as toiletries and clothing. We’ve been so moved by the stories we hear of brave young guys chasing opportunities, escaping slavery, pursing freedom and risking their lives to be in better place in life. There is an acute need right now here on the coast of France to provide the basics for these boys. There are hundreds in our area, and on an average evening we provide for between 30 and 100. We have an old converted ambulance and have equipped it to serve this ministry. There is a constant need to keep the funds coming in to continue this work, and our deep conviction and desire is that it will be sustainable and there for as long as is needed. The moments when we run out of provisions and are approached for help, are the really hard ones. Everyone should be able to access food, and basics such as warm dry clothes, (especially as these guys are living often in dirty open ditches).

Will you help us keep this work going? Can you make a donation on this page to support this provision and the many costs that surround this to make it possible?

We are so grateful for the army of people that have already invested and continue to donate and serve. If you are one of those people, again, a huge thank you to you.
