Story

As I have had some part to play in the cancellation of the proposed Zombie Aid 2011 event, which had Special Effect as a listed beneficiary (see my blog for more information), I wanted to do something to raise money for Special Effect.

I still wanted to involve zombies, and Special Effect are a charity who help gamers, I put two and two together and came up with a sponsored videogame zombie kill.

So, on Saturday 13th August 2011, I'm going to see how many zombies I can kill in one in-game day of Dead Rising 2 (on the xbox 360) - that's about 2 hours in the real world, although it might be a bit longer if you allow for loading times and cut scenes.

I won't be using vehicles, because that's a bit too boring, but otherwise I'll be focusing on killing zombies not playing through the story - I should be able to rack up a couple of thousand zombie kills.

I'll be starting a new game so we can track how many zombies I've killed, and - once my time is up - for every zombie I kill I'll donate 1p to Special Effect (through this site).

I'll be posting the number of zombies killed (with a screenshot) after the event.

Update: The event is now complete; 2,560 zombies were killed in the name of charity.

Please sponsor me as much or as little as you can in order to ensure that Special Effect don't miss out and to help prove that zombies can raise money for charity. Even a small amount can make a huge difference.

This page will remain open for donations until the end of August.
