We provide information and support to people living with long term pain

Story

Persistent pain is the largest cause of disability globally and about 20% of the UK live with the condition. Unlike the pain when you stub your toe or pull a muscle, it is normally less to do with a physical reason as it persists longer than the typical healing times for the body. Making it all the more hard to understand. You can find out a bit more about how we think it works here: https://youtu.be/ikUzvSph7Z4

In my role as a physio I have met some fantastic people working toward managing their pain: Imagine having a niggling ache or a sharp severe pain through your day, every day, and having to stop doing things you value, or persist through it. It can be hard to find a balance so you can live life well with pain.

Pain Concern is a charitable organisation who are a community for those with chronic pain. They run information workshops, a helpline, provide many online resources and information that I often direct people to, and it is all the more helpful because many of the volunteers have persistent pain themselves.

All I would ask is that if you donate a couple of pounds to help raise some money for the fantastic work that Pain Concern do.

If you know someone with persistent pain please show them www.painconcern.org.uk

We work to improve the lives of people living with pain. We run a helpline and publish information leaflets and a magazine: Pain Matters, aimed at informing ordinary people about pain. The charity campaigns for better pain services and a better understanding of the needs of people living with pain.
