Story

The Spine Race has become quite a big thing within Craven Energy triathlon club as we now have around 15 finishes from club members (with no DNF’s) mostly in winter Spine. As many of club are hard core endurance athletes they love the Spine Race and meeting all the competitors in their crazy endeavour.

Like Spine racers, we all go out to train and ‘play’ in the local fells and mountains. We feel it is important that those who play in these areas give something back to the selfless volunteers who we know are there should we get into trouble. We spread our fund raising around different MRT teams and as we go through Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue team area and indeed as winter Spine MRT winner Joe Parsons is on team, we thought that would raise money for this wonderful cause. For all we know, a Spiner may be needing their volunteer services. There are so many worthy MRT teams that we would like to raise money for but it seems right that we should raise money for local team.
