Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are a group of friends looking to raise funds for and awareness of The Gurkha Welfare Trust and Oxfam, who are leading the fight against global poverty.
The Gurkhas are soldiers from Nepal, who have served in the British Armed Forces for over 200 years, renowned throughout the world for their loyalty and bravery. The Gurkha Welfare Trust is a charity that helps a number of Gurkha ex-servicemen and their dependents with their dedication to provide financial (pension), medical and community aid (clean water and education) for those who live in remote parts of Nepal; assistance is also provided to those who require it in the UK and elsewhere.
The fight against poverty has always been an uphill battle, however Oxfam has been determined in their efforts to provide clean water and basic needs, along with helping rebuild people's lives, in many different parts around the world.
This is a huge challenge for us physically and mentally. Our team has been training relentlessly for the past few months for the big day, and with all your support, we hope to smash this 100km walk and our donation target!
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, as it would go a long way to make a significant difference to the beneficiaries and the betterment of their wellbeing.
We will trek, stumble, sweat, blister and bruise until we make it past the finish line!
Thanking you all in anticipation.
