SGFC - Lands End to John o’ Groats
From the 4th-10th of May, the mighty Sporting Greyhound FC, hailing from the famous Bristol Downs League, will be attempting to run 874 miles - the distance from Lands End to John o’Groats (all within social distancing rules) in the beautiful city of Bristol.
This will be in the aid of Billy Chip, a fantastic charity helping the homeless in Bristol - https://www.billychip.com/
Billy Abernethy-Hope came up with this fantastic idea shortly before his untimely passing at just 20. His sister Meg and parents Jon and Sarah started The BillyChip in his memory in 2018 and are already doing fantastic things in the city. But this deserves to be a whole lot bigger.
You buy a chip for £2 from any participating retailer and this can be given to a homeless person to reclaim for a hot drink or towards a meal. Huge numbers of coffee shops and restaurants around the city, including Boston Tea Party, have got involved so far.
They have a larger target of £150000 in order to be able to roll it out UK wide and we hope to raise at least £5000 to help them on their way.
