Story

The Challenge

Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales at an elevation of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands Seth and Martha will need to be prepared to take on this challenging 6-8 hour hike, with little shelter from the elements.  What starts off as a sunny day at the bottom can rapidly turn into ice-cold winds, heavy rain and thick mist halfway up – and it’s not usually climbed by children under ten years old!

The Charity

Wrong Trousers Day is inspired by the Wallace & Gromit
film, The Wrong Trousers! By supporting this Wrong Trousers adventure you'll help The Grand Appeal fund lifesaving medical equipment, play therapy, patient comforts and family accommodation to transform the lives of sick children at Bristol Children's Hospital.

Why we are so passionate about supporting Bristol Children's Hospital

We've experienced first-hand the amazing care offered by Bristol Children's Hospital.  Not only have they saved the lives of two of our three children, they provided the most amazing environment for Seth and Eliza to recover in their time of need.  First Seth was transferred to the hospital when his condition became progressively worse when suffering from pneumonia.  After two weeks in Bristol he was able to return home and shortly after return to school.

The next year Eliza took things to the next level when she was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumour, a rare form of cancer.  The staff and facilities at Bristol were simply amazing – state of the art imaging technology allows doctors to pinpoint the tumour and remove it during a three hour operation.  Eliza then received eight months of chemotherapy following which she made a full recovery.  Her hair grew back after the chemo just in time for her to start her first year of school on time.
