Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you who don’t know, I work for the incredible school that is Step By Step.  Here’s a little bit about the school from the school website:

“Step by Step is a small independent day school for pupils with autism. We provide specialised teaching for Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form pupils, aged 4 to 19, who have a diagnosis on the autism spectrum”

“We help pupils develop the skills, understanding and confidence to reach their full potential and, as far as possible, lead full and independent lives”

“Our school was founded in 2004 by a group of parents who had been running home education programmes. The aim was to provide a highly specialised approach to meet each pupil’s individual and autism specific needs within the social setting of a school. Step by Step is a registered charity and relies heavily on the generous contributions of friends, families, charitable trusts and local companies. It’s thanks to this generosity that our school was possible and it’s vital to our future that this support continues. Making a difference to the lives of children with autism can be enriching and rewarding. Please help us continue to deliver the very best in modern and pioneering education to give these children hope for the future! To enable us to maintain the highest standards and to keep growing we need ongoing financial support 🙏🏻

The defining aspect of our school is 1:1 teaching for each pupil throughout the school day based on
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
and supported by other complementary methods including:

“Our mission is:-

To maximise the potential of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) through evidence based, individually tailored, outstanding teaching to enable them to thrive and live happy, confident lives”

The school is fundraising to help with the build costs of a much needed new school building. This will facilitate new classrooms, a teaching room and a common room for the 6th form! For the next 6 months the pupils are taking on the challenge of travelling the distance from Lands End to John O’Groats. They will be doing this through running, walking, cycling, jumping, swimming and any other means of travelling. This of course is a massive undertaking but the enthusiasm I have seen from the pupils about this challenge is in simple terms, quite frankly inspiring! 💪🏼

So.... I decided quite a while ago that I really wanted to do a skydive.. what better time to do it and help with fundraising for this incredible school! - Luckily for me (as anyone will know this is a huge thing for me to do 😲) Mark (My wingman!) as always is right by my side and has joined me in this fundraising to help support the school, so we will be doing this jump together!

Please help in anyway you can! 🙏🏻 No matter how big or small every donation is a step towards giving our amazing pupils the facilities they deserve ~ I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing and dedicated team of people and most of all am so proud of the pupils!
