I'm riding 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for a small charity called Kangaroos who support over 100 families with children of special needs. One such child is our own son who has Downs Syndrome and a congenital heart defect and receives huge support from attending groups suited to his particular needs. This helps with his socialising as well as providing much needed respite for the rest of the family.

This year, having seen more and more children and families needing this valuable support I felt I had to do more. So, even while knowing how much pain and effort is required I'm up for the challenge.

I have done the ride before with my daughter Holly when she was just 15, but this time she will be taking the journey in more luxury. She is driving the support vehicle! And I will be riding along with my good friend Peter Hastings while his daughter will be acting as co-pilot for Holly.

This is not an easy challenge for me. The last time I vowed not to do it again. But I can't ignore the fact that there is a waiting list of people needing the type support that Leo receives. Putting the pain aside and gladly accept the challenge of riding from one end of the country to the other.
