Story

When Strutt & Parker announced the firm’s charity was to be the Sebastian Coe Charitable Foundation and we then listened to one of the scientists from the Crick Institute explain what they were trying to achieve, it was a charity that as a team we felt we had to do our best for.

George's mother is still fighting cancer and it would be wonderful to find
some miracle cure.  Simon North, a Partner in the office, has survived cancer but has been through the pain and pressure that it brings and has now lifelong injuries that while do not impact his ability to work do restrict what he is able to do.

Last year, George lost 2 friends who had not hit 40, with young families and with all of these scenarios starting to hit home it was only right that we should do our best for the Sebastian Coe Foundation.

We appreciate that there are a lot of people asking for money and the challenges set are greater and greater.  Members of the team have run marathons over the years and while no-one has quite scaled Everest, this to us is our own Everest.

The Test Way runs from Coombe Gibbet to Totton and is somewhere between 44 and 49 miles. We feel that it is a challenge, as an awful lot of people have questioned whether we are sane and some even whether for us it is possible.

We appreciate that it will not come without some pain but for us to go through this is nothing compared to what, if you have this dreadful disease, have to go through for the hopefully curing process.

Our ambition is to raise a huge and amazing sum for this wonderful cause that in the future will save the lives of those we love.

Thank you from all of us here in the Winchester branch for all your support.

George, Jake, Simon, Jane & Harriet
