Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Please do not be concerned about references to the RC Archdiocese of Southwark on this page - they merely collect the donations on our behalf and claim the tax rebate from HMRC. The whole amount is then sent on to our parish. So please don't forget to gift aid it on the relevant screen!

Our church was built in 1971. Since then, the church building itself has seen very little development. This means that the time has now come to update and upgrade most of its facilities. The sound system, the lighting and the roof insulation are but a few of the many items that need to be given due consideration in the near future. Currently we are addressing the problem with the heating system because most of the spare parts needed to keep our ageing hot air boiler working, have become obsolete and therefore it is now necessary to replace it with a proper central heating system.

As we are a small parish with an average weekend Mass attendance of approximately 300 in total, we would not be able to raise, by ourselves alone, the estimated £15.000 needed to carry out this work. So, we are  appealing to the generosity of all our parishioners, their families and friends, plus that of anyone who visits our website, to donate whatever they can and pray that we may succeed in all our fundraising efforts.

Parish volunteers are doing their utmost to organise fundraising events and sponsored activities because, as Stewards of this parish, we are each responsible for its upkeep, and we have a duty to pass the parish on to the next generation in even better condition than when we received it.

Please click on the Donate button above and follow the on-screen instructions. All money raised, whether the target is reached or exceeded, will go to St Simon Stock Church Building Development Fund.

Contributions can be made through our JustGiving scheme and if they can be gift aided (UK tax payers only), so much the better.

Thank you for your kind generosity.
