This is a cause that is very close to my heart, having had family members with it and through my volunteering, met people who are in different stages of this devastating disease, for which there is currently no cure. I have also seen and experienced first hand the effects on families and individuals.
I have huge admiration for all carers both professional and non professional who look after these folk and that is why my puppy and I will be walking on the evening of Friday 1st March through the City of London - aprox 5k
There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with 40,000 people under the age of 65.
One person every 3 minutes will develop dementia.
225,000 people will develop dementia this year, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025.
The Society hope to raise £140,000 across three nocturnal walks throughout the UK this year.
Hoping you will support us and don’t forget Gift Aid which is totally free and will raise even more money.
Thanking you all in advance for your support.
