Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our great friend John Stannett recently lost his long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was supported through his final days by the Earl Mountbatten hospice and i cannot think of a better way to thank them.

John and Jacqui (his beloved wife) were our dearest friends and we have shared many great times on the sea. Johns love of the sea was infectious and he helped us develop into (quite) competent skippers. There are many stories to tell not least the time he led my husband Julian through the Alderny race in a force 7 wind against tide. They survived to tell the tale and actually laughed about it. I was quite pleased that they had kept this from me til they managed to return home safely. Every time those three went away together they got into some scrape or other and i could not wait to hear about their latest escapades.

We will miss you John xx
