Story
Hi,
My name is sue and the picture above is of myself, my daughter chloe and son Nathan
In June 2019 my son was diagnosed with ALL, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia at 8 years old, he is responding well to treatment and is in maintenance but has a very long way to go (end treatment date August 22) he is always smiling and I am so proud of the way he has coped
He has received all his treatment at the great north childrens hospital at the RVI in Newcastle which we will always be grateful for.
We as a family have decided to raise money for the childrens hospital by all doing the great north run, chloe and nathan are doing the junior run on the 11th September, Nathan's mobility has been affected by his treatment so he may need his wheelchair for some of the race, I will run with my daughter Chloe.
I am 48 now and have been signed up to do this run since 2019 but due to Covid hasn’t happened although I managed the virtual one last year, I’m now not as fit as I was then so this is a huge challenge to myself all Nathan has asked is to see me run past him on the day and that’s all the motivation I need :)
We are raising money for a fab cause the children’s north east hospital, Nathan wouldn’t be we’re he is today without them so please donate if you can
Thanks for reading :)
