I have a black dog!!

Very few people know about my black dog... but his name is depression!!

For the last few years I have been suffering with depression. Hard to say why and how it started but it got to the point about two years ago that it caused a couple of breakdowns which were extremely unpleasant and brought very dark thoughts to the surface. Thankfully, through medication, counselling and the support of my wonderful family I have managed to banish the darkest of those thoughts. Am I better?...No. Am I getting better?... Only time will tell but I hope so.   

As you know we have held an annual charity fund raiser for a long time now and have always supported local or national charities that mean something to us directly. MIND in Croydon supports people with Mental illnesses, depression being just one of those. It affects not only the individual but also those closest to him and MIND in Croydon supports both.
