We deliver outstanding care to children and families

Story

Grace's Place began as a charity in 2013.  Formerly the Bealey Hospital, the building is on Dumers Lane in Radcliffe.  Forget Me Not Charity took over its management last summer and have since been continuing fund raising efforts to provide much needed services to children who have a life shortening condition and to their families.

Grace's Place enables families to access services locally for the treatment and care they need.  The success of their kick start campaign has now seen four specialist nurses being brought into post to provide care at home and we want to see that success continue so that Grace's Place will be able to care for so many more North Manchester families.

Their mission is simple, to say 'yes', to make a difference and to bring about some magic in often difficult times.  The team aims to provide positive experiences and opportunities to share precious moments, memories, playing and laughter.  From clinical care to practical support, counselling services, ironing and providing hospice at home services, everything they do is to make things easier in the lives of children and families and give them choices.

We at Persona understand all too well the importance of choice, we believe that people deserve uniquely tailored care and support which improves their quality of life.  We understand the benefits of the great things we can achieve when we come together, and we also understand the importance of 'the magic of yes'.

Therefore, the staff team and customers at Sunnybank Community Centre will be taking part in an organised 'Team Challenge' to travel the 215 miles to London from Manchester, using both static and accessible bikes.  Our event will run from 1st May - 3rd May.  Our staff team and customers will enjoy the scenes of Sunnybank Centre as we begin our journey on static bikes for the first two days; on day three we are hitting the great outdoors and heading to Leverhulme Park, so that our customers can take part in the journey on accessible bikes.

We're sure to achieve our aim because we're all coming together to do it; everyone in our centre is taking part to raise funds for this amazing cause and we'd love to see you if you can pop in during the challenge to show your support and to cheer us on.

We owe a massive thank you for all the support we have already received to get our event going: to Bury Leisure for the loan of two static bikes, to Bolton Council's Wheels for All facility and to Cookson's of Whitefield for the odometer equipment.  Thanks also to those assisting to transport our bikes to the base and to all our amazing staff and customers for pledging to take part.

When people come together, great things can be achieved for great causes.

Thank you for reading our story!
