Story
Thank you for visiting the page for the Suswa Maasai Girls Refuge Centre in Kenya. The Suswa Project is run by The Balcraig Foundation and Kenya Children's Home (KCH - see justgiving.com/kch for more information and www.kenyachildrenshome.org.uk ).
The Suswa Project was launched in November 2005 and its aim is to provide for the welfare, security and education of Maasai girls who are rescued from female genital mutilation (FGM) and early arranged marriages, empowering them to change their lives and the lives of future generations. In all cases, the girls are supported by their community and allowed to enrol at Suswa. The Centre is run in partnership with the local community, provding services to the local people as well as the girls in our care.
We have established a sponsorship scheme for the Suswa girls, which costs just £10 a month (£120 a year). This covers all the costs involved in caring for them and providing education and medical attention.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support Suswa : the Balcraig Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
