Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. There are 3 important forthcoming fundraising endeavours to take place in the very near future. 1.   Tue 8th April, my next book launch. This will hopefully raise much needed funds for my Royal Marines Charity (Please see  www.swasieturner.org for details).          2.  Starting on Sat, 31st May this year, I will be pushing my standard NHS casterd wheelchair approximately 80+ miles, accompanied by my fellow RMA  colleagues, (all proudly wearing our Green Lids), former and serving Royal Marines and escorted by the Fire Service, around the whole outer route of the Isle of Wight. This is to raise funds for my Royal Marines Charity and the Fire-Fighters' Charity. The push/yomp will take 4 days. All donations will be most gratefully received.          3.    Next, on Sunday, the 27th July this year, I will ascending the Rock of Gibraltar then descend by the same route, in my wheelchair, accompanied by my former RM Sgt Major, to again raise funds for my Royal Marines Charity and also the charity COPS (Care Of Police Survivors) and again, all donations will be most gratefully received. Details of the three forthcoming endeavours are listed on my website above. Once again, I thank all those who donate to these extremely worthy causes, for their generosity and much appreciated benevolence. Having just held a very successful 'Book Launch' on 8th April to raise funds for the RMA, the next fundraising endeavour is the Isle of Wight 'Yomp' (and wheelchair push) which will start on Saturday, 31st May. The event will involve a party of 'Green Lids' (former and serving Royal Marines) being taken over by boat from Portsmouth to be landed on the beach at Ryde. From there the party will be joined by Fire-fighters and others who will then set out on a four day trek around the whole outer route of the island (approx. 80 miles). The trek is to raise funds for the Royal Marines Association as well as the 'Fire-Fighters Charity', two extremely worthy causes. All donations will be gratefully received and extremely welcome.
