Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Worthing Swimming Club are organising 2 relay based events at Splashpoint Leisure Centre. 1 for Junior swimmers on Saturday 20th April and 1 for Senior swimmers on Saturday 27th April. This will include swimmers from the club and other local clubs, aquaschool and any other swimming supporters. There will be various relay challenges with the key aim of using swimming to raise money. All money raised will go to the Teenage and Young Adult Unit at Southampton General Hospital, via the 'Teenage Cancer Trust.'

Talisa-Mae Marsh has been a member of WSC since 2006 and has competed in a number of county and regional events. Recently, on the 4th March Talisa was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and was admitted to Southampton General Hospital at the Teenage and Young Adult unit for 16-24 year olds. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will have to stay in hospital for a minimum of 6 months, until treatment is finished. She has just turned 18 and celebrated with friends and family in Southampton.

The Teenage Cancer Trust create world-class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone. They have built world-class specialist facilities in 28 hospitals across the UK including Southampton providing a home away from home for young people while they receive treatment. They also fund specialist nurses and youth support co-ordinators to support the young people in these units.

The Teenage Cancer Trust means a lot to Talisa, and she would really appreciate any money donated to this fantastic cause!!
