Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

This September we have been lucky enough to each get a place on the Swim to Bestival Team. Bestival is an annual musical festival that takes place on the Isle of Wight and each year a group of 12 people swim the 3.5 miles (or maybe more, depending on the tide) from the south coast of England over to the island. Famously, mile for mile the ferry is the most expensive crossing in the world. Even more famously, we are both cheap skates, so this our unique way of saving a few bob...did we say bob?

Everyone is asked to nominate a charity and we have chosen WaterAid, which not only sounds appropriate, but also an incredibly important organisation. WaterAid's mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. For a gift of just £15 WaterAid can provide one person in Africa or Asia with a lasting supply of safe, clean water, sanitation and hygiene education. Surely this is the most basic of human rights.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
