Right now, there are more than one million Syrian refugees living hand-to-mouth in desperate conditions. Medair has teams working in Lebanon and Jordan.

 

In Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, we're working in close collaboration with local NGO Heart for Lebanon to help refugee families and young children survive winter snows and freezing temperatures. Our activities include:

 

- Providing plastic and other materials so families can properly insulate their shelters for the winter

 

- Distributing essential provisions such as blankets, mattresses, and stoves so that families are kept warm as the temperature drops and the snow arrives.

 

In Jordan, Medair is providing emergency relief to refugee families who are not living in camps. Our activities include: 

 

- Providing financial assistance so that families can buy food, prepare for winter, and cover their expenses 

 

- Preparing for nutritional screenings for children and mothers, along with nutrition treatment and activities to promote good feeding practices
