Story
Introducing Pete, Joe, Richard, Clyde and Gareth.
We are 5 blokes from Tata Chemicals, and at the end of May we will be embarking on a challenge that will put our planning and logistical skills - and friendships - to the test.
In time honoured tradition, the 'Tata Summer Challenge' has taken many different forms - you may remember last year we completed the Cheshire Ring cycle ride - and for 2019 we are swapping pedal power for horse power as we attempt to navigate our way to 3 iconic dams across the United Kingdom before returning home to Winnington.
We will be riding at least 600 MILES in 48 HOURS - WITHOUT using any MOTORWAYS.
The challenge will take in:
- Kielder Water in Northumberland,
- Rutland Water near Oakham
- Haweswater in Mardale, Cumbria
We will leave Winnington at 9am on Friday 31st May and are due to return at 9am on the Sunday - 48 hours later.
The 'Fearless Five' (as we've been called!) will be documenting our journey en route and sharing it on social media.
All donations will go directly to St Luke's to support patients and their families from across Cheshire living with life-limiting conditions.
Thanks for your support.
Since 1988, St Luke’s has been providing palliative care to local people, supporting them in ways which go beyond the scope and funding of the NHS. Last year we supported over 1,000 local people with a huge range of support from end of life care on our ward to supporting carers, and from helping children cope with grief to helping patients return to work after an illness. We are a charity and provide all our care for free, so we rely on the generosity and commitment of our supporters to raise more than 80% of our costs.
