Story
Staff and from Neston High School are raising money in memory of Emma Mannix as Team Emma 2020.
Emma was diagnosed with Pure Erythroid Leukaemia, a rare type of leukaemia in June 2012. At the point of diagnosis she was seriously ill.
However as a result of the hard work, care and support of the consultants and all staff at the Oncology Unit in Alderhey Hospital Emma responded amazingly well to treatment. She showed great spirit throughout which meant we could enjoy a wonderful few months with her.
Despite Emma being so resilient in every way the type of leukaemia she had was so aggressive that she tragically passed away on 7 October 2012.
Since starting work at Neston High School I have spoken about my daughter Emma and been well supported by staff and students. Consequently we are running as a team in memory of Emma. We have chosen this charity for people to donate to in memory of Emma as a legacy to support vital research in the hope that a cure can one day be developed.
