Story

On Sunday 26th April Daddy should have been running the London Marathon. This was going to be his 2nd Marathon in a month but they have been delayed because of this silly virus. We still want to raise money for The UK Sepsis Trust though in memory of our very own Mr Incredible, Uncle Pete who died from Sepsis last year. Therefore we will be running 2.6 miles as an entire family at the same time Daddy should have been in London as part of the #TwoPointSixChallenge. If you are able to sponsor us we will be so grateful.

Thank you,

Ben, Jess & Tom

The UK Sepsis Trust raises money to help raise awareness of Sepsis. Sepsis kills 52,000 people a year in the UK but if identified early enough, you have a chance of surviving it. They also support those people affected by Sepsis and are currently spreading their services to support those affected by COVID-19 and their families which makes their current work doubley important.

Save the UK's CharitiesGeneral fundraising has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of fundraising events have been cancelled and many charities, particularly smaller ones, are struggling to maintain services because of this huge reduction in income. This impacts all sectors of society from children to the elderly as well as the vital work in areas such as palliative care, serious diseases, mental health, housing support, food supplies and countless others that charities support.

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.
