On 9 August 2014 The Wire arrived in Liverpool City Centre. A zip wire challenge like no other. Chris Topping, Karl McAllister, Steven Walmsley, Sheridan Broddle, Helene Santamera, Stephen Medley-Daley, Tom Brown, Hazel Dyble, Susie Lennard, Nina Patel, Angela Hesketh, June Voiels, Sara Bush, Kim Edwards, Samantha Hanna and Tom Morris Jones were amongst those volunteers at QualitySolicitors Jackson & Canter/Broudie Jackson Canter that foolishly agreed to zip wire at 110ft above Liverpool's main shopping street on 3 September 2014 between 1-3pm.

On a serious note the zip wire sponsorship is in aid of Woodlands Hospice. Woodland is an independent charity committed to delivering the best possible practice and development of Specialist Palliative Care for people with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.

 It honours people’s right to dignity and respect at whatever stage of their illness, by its aim to improve the quality of life for patients and their carers. 

Woodlands is based in North Liverpool and covers a population of 330,000 in North Liverpool, South Sefton and Kirkby in Knowsley.
