Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for ‘The Extremely Rude and Mysterious Bicycle Tour of Britain’ (or TERAMBTOB for short).   This is a solo, self-supported 4 month 4,000 mile (approx) bicycle tour, by yours truly, that will roughly follow the coast of mainland Britain.  It begins on 1st May 2016, when I leave Blackpool (heading anti-clockwise), and has to end by 1st September 2016 as I have to be back at work (my employer is kindly allowing me to take a 4 month career break to do this!).

So what’s extremely rude and mysterious about the tour? Well…...........the ‘extremely’ refers to visiting the extreme cardinal points of mainland Britain (i.e. the most northerly, easterly, southerly and westerly points); and this is the main aim of the tour.  The ‘rude’ refers to visiting 'rude' place names of Britain (inspired by Strumpshaw, Tingleton & Giggleswick’s Marvelous Map), and ‘mysterious’ refers to visiting places that are, or have a reputation for being,……….erm well………..mysterious.

I’m hoping during this tour to raise money for the East Lancashire branch of the RSPCA to help them carry out the good work they do.  I'm really hoping to reach a target of £1,000 so any and all donations that you feel able to give will be massively appreciated and will benefit all the animals currently boarding at this branch of the RSPCA.  Please note that all money donated goes directly to the East Lancashire branch and does not go into some big central RSPCA 'pot'.

Many thanks for reading.

About the charity

The RSPCA Lancs East branch works to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals in the branch area, including Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Clitheroe, Nelson, Colne & Darwen. From it's Animal Centre in Altham it rehomes animals to caring new owners. We do not put healthy animals to sleep.
