Fundraising for Tamwed
Story
So as most of you, if not ALL OF YOU know: I’M RUNNING THE LONDON MARATHON ON APRIL 22ND 2018.
I am proud to be running for the charity TAMWED. Having personal links to the charity I know the fantastic work they do, but just in case you don’t – here’s a little de-brief:
Tamwed is a small charity run by volunteers with professional or personal links to South India. Because Tamwed is run by volunteers, 100% of funds received will go directly to the projects it supports.
Tamwed supports the work of the ISLAND Trust , a highly reputable NGO working with tribal people in Tamil Nadu. Each year’s programme is based on the prioritised needs of those living in the poorest and most remote hillside communities. The ultimate aim is for these communities to become self-sufficient in a way that recognises their culture and their rights.
Money raised for my run will specifically go towards projects that focus on the health and welfare of the indigenous tribal women of these communities. These women urgently need your support.
