Story

Andy Green and Joe Weinberger are going to run from the source of the River Thames in Gloucestershire to London, along the Thames path.  That's obviously not the whole length of the Thames but still a long way: six marathons spread over the next few months.

Joe's nephew has a form of anaemia called Diamond Blackfan Anaemia.  It's a rare inherited bone marrow failure syndrome, characterised by the failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood cells.  We want to raise money to help fund research and support that could help his nephew have a better quality of life.

Run with us!

You can help us do this by (just) giving, or by running with us for part of the way.  That could be however far you want: 1km, 5km, 10km, a half marathon, a full marathon or whatever works for you.  NB for fast or slow athletes, we will not be going very fast, and will certainly walk in parts too.

The route along the Thames Path is beautiful, starting at the Thames Head* in Gloucestershire and passing through Oxford, Henley, Windsor and Greater London along the way.  If you live near any of those places then come along for part of the run, subject to covid restrictions of course.  We would love to do this with friends and family (safely socially distanced) and if you can raise money as part of this then even better.  You can also help by giving blood:
