Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As part of my ambitions for 2019, one goal was to overcome one of my personal fears, that was of swimming in open water.
I decided to set up a blog at www.thanktheuniverse.org called the 100%'ers... where I and others if they so choose, can log their journey towards achieving their goals.
Anyone that knows anything about my website and the mission behind it, will know that I contribute to Mind - West Cumbria already through the sales of my t-shirts, where I donate a small percentage of the sales.
So it made sense, along with adding more impetuous, to raise money for Mind - West Cumbria, whilst undertaking this open water swim...
So currently I am in the pool (3-4 times a week) learning to swim with better technique whilst trying to improve my endurance. By March, I aim to take my first steps into open water and by July I aim to smash the 500m swim at derwent Water.
For the full story and progress, please go over to the 100%'ers... page at www.thanktheuniverse.org website.
Mental Health awareness is thankfully on the rise, but there is so much more we can do to recognise symptoms early and give the proper support and advice when and where it is needed. That is why I choose Mind over other, just as deserving charities.
Please take time to visit the www.mindinwestcumbria.org website and if you feel that this is a worthy cause, then any sponsorship for this great charity and this nerve wracking event, would be greatly appreciated.
