Story
Many news outlets were very kind in helping us highlight some of our concerns with the treatment our son recieved while at Kingston hospital. Sebastian was born March 8th, 2017 and sadly died March 12th, 2017 due to hospital error.
Outside of the failure in care Sebastian received, in the aftermath of this crisis, there was not adequate and readily available support with our grief.
Anyone who has lost their baby knows there is simply nothing else like it. It is a terrible and unique situation as you grieve the life that could have been. This is different than grieving a life lived and requires a special touch.
Something of this nature was not available at Kingston Hospital and also not easily found anywhere in London.
We eventually found Petals and finally received the help we truly needed.
We have encouraged Kingston Hospital to work closely with Petals to help provide support to grieving families and would like to see hospitals all over the nation to follow suit.
