Story

We are "The Bubbleheads", better known as Andy, Chris, James and Lewis, a team of four saturation divers, who have entered the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge 2021.

This is a gruelling 3000 mile Ocean Rowing Race that starts in La Gomera, Canary islands in December 2021 and finishes in Nelson Dockyard, Antigua. This epic challenge takes most participants between 30-40 days to complete. Our mental and physical endurance will be tested, and each team will battle with sleep deprivation, salt sores and waves that can reach more than 20 feet high. It’s considered to be the world’s toughest row. So why are we doing this? To raise funds for charities that are close to our hearts.

The Bubbleheads crew have served 20+ years between them in the HM Forces. Since this year marks the 75th Anniversary of World War II, where all of our grandfathers had their part to play, we wanted to make our own contribution. We have teamed up with the Royal British Legion, the country’s largest Armed Forces charity, with over 235,000 members, 110,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities. The Royal British Legion provide lifelong support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families.

We would be very grateful if you can help support our campaign, and donate what you can to this amazing charity.
