Event: 2010 Mazda London Triathlon, on 8 August 2010
We help African children go to school to build a better future

Story

I have chosen to run the London Mazda Triathlon that takes place in August 2010. This is to raise money for the three charities selected below, but equally to cherish the memory of Grace Hadman, a close friend to me and many others, especially as it will be a year since her passing soon , and I have wanted to do something for her since the tragedy . As well as the triathlon in August, I will be taking part in a 24 hour fast, as well as a 24 hour run that will be split in to shifts between group of us at school, the Crystal Palace triathlon ( half the distance of the London triathlon Olympic Distance) which will take place on the 23rd of May, and the swimming leg of the Blenheim Triathlon (750m) as part of a team relay on the 6th of June.  However all these events are part of my on going training for the London Triathlon in August, which will double all the distances  of the triathlons previously done , resulting in me continuously swimming 1500m in the river Thames, followed by a 40k (26 mile) cycle through London, finishing with a 10k run. My total amount shall be divided between the three charities  and I am hoping to raise around £2650, at least. I know there has been a lot of request for charitable donations with jr4jr and the Haiti appeal, but it is all for a good cause, and I cannot do it without your support...

This particular Charity, The African Childrens Fund is most relevant to Grace, as it has close contact with my school. Grace herself had raised money previously for, in a 24 hour fast that she took part in at school, which I will be doing myself in late March. This charity  is one of two charities in which Graces parents decided to dedicate donations towards in memory of Grace and therefore has the most sentimental support from me. Mr Chitsenga , a teacher within my school, who was also very fond of Grace is an active member of this charity and I have already seen from him evidence of the positive effect that the sponsorship has provided. The main objectives of the African Children’s Fund ranges from providing children with basic healthcare, to re-uniting them with their families and to meet basic human needs such as shelter , safety and health care. Please support these children in need and provide them with what we take for granted everyday.
