1 Million Step Challenge
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
Take 1 million steps over 3 months and get sponsored for every stride to help us reach a future where diabetes can do no harm.

Story

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on 14 February 1996 after projectile vomiting all over my classmates at school. It certainly ruined us watching Oliver Twist! 21 years down the line and I've gotten through rebellion against my diabetes and have come through being diagnosed with complications. I'm now on an insulin pump and my control is much better.

What I want, though, is a cure. I was told when I was diagnosed that there would be a cure within 10 years. I'm still waiting, as are millions of other people. I'm doing this challenge to raise money for an incredibly worthy cause and to prove that diabetes doesn't control me. I control it.
