Hello. I’m Dorsey Bear.
From Autumn 2017 to May 2018 I represented The Dorset Children’s Foundation at various events but mostly at AFC Bournemouth home games. I’d hang out with the Junior Cherries, meet the fans with Cherry Bear and cheer on the team from my spot in the corner below the scoreboard. I would do incredible things like: stand by a corner flag; cover my eyes in despair; wave; dab/floss; and jump up and down a bit. That basically makes me an elite athlete doesn’t it? To top it all each week an average of 12 million people would see me stand in that corner smiling (always smiling).

For 1 blissful year I was the tallest, smiliest, biggest, yellowiest, cuddliest character in The Dorset Children’s Foundation. So imagine my chagrin when The DCF announced that some interloper calling himself Chris “The Gentleman” Billam-Smith was their new ambassador. He might be the mandatory challenger for the Cruiserweight Commonwealth title and he might be handsome and he might be very popular, and probably really really good at boxing, but he’s stepping on my turf.

So I did what any self-respecting bear would do – I called him out. We need to decide once and for all who is the top ambassador. We’re going to settle this bear to man. Bear vs Billam. Chris has agreed that for a £1,000 donation to The DCF he will step into the ring with me. What could possibly go wrong? (one possible answer is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7xB9jQe5Ec)

While £1,000 is all I need to convince me to give The “Gentleman” a proper workout, I’m setting my sights much higher than that. After all, I’m a famous sports bear seen by millions worldwide. I’m a big draw.

So here’s the deal. If we can raise £1,000 I’ll get in the ring and do a few rounds with Chris to show him what I’ve got. To help raise the purse, click the links on this page or TEXT DORS69 £1/£2/£3/£5/£10 TO 70070

But if we get more than our target, I’ll lay on a whole evening’s entertainment in a proper boxing venue in early 2019 featuring some very special guests, good food and much hilarity. We promise local sporting heroes, world champion boxers and of course, bear vs billam when we’ll need you on our team. If you want to dip a bit deeper into your pockets here’s how you can be part of Team Dorsey (or if you really want, Team Billam-Smith).
•    £150 – For £150 you can do the ring-walk with me. Pick the music, intimidate the opposition, smell the fear, soak up the glory.
•    £200 – Have your name/logo on my robe.
•    £250 – your name/logo on the soles of Chris’ boots (think about it…..)
•    £300 – Your name/logo on my shorts.
•    £300 – Be our special ring card boy/girl. Easy job – just carry a big number above your head a couple of times while soaking up the aforementioned glory.
•    £400 – Be Chris’ cornerman. Carry his spit bucket, rub Vaseline on his currently pretty face, use that funny little iron thing on his eyebrows, throw in the towel when it all gets too much for him.
•    £500 – Be my cornerman. Similar to above but no towels required. Hang out in my dressing room with my corner team, shout motivational quotes in my ears between rounds, celebrate my inevitable victory with our special guests.
•    £750 – sponsor the ring and corner posts.
•    £1,000 – Have the title named in your honour and take the inaugural championship belt home with you forever.
This is a once-in-a-beartime event and every peny given above will go to The Dorset Children’s Foundation to help support a local sick or disabled child.
