The County Club Car Rally 2015 - 23 to 26 APRIL 2015

St-Malo to Calais via Le Mans or BUST!!

Raising funds for ABF The Soldiers Charity

Proving the old adages that there's no fool like an old fool, and the more the merrier, Matthew Truelove, Ana Agreda & Gerry Nugent are combining forces this year in the County Club Car Rally and together as ‘The Flat Earthers’ Their aim is to finish the rally in one piece, with some oil left in the sump of their venerable Mercedes 190, and still on talking terms with each other, if not with The Young(?) Guns!

Please help them raise £500.00 or more for this brilliant Charity chosen by The County Club.

The County Club Guildford est. 1882 has a tradition of supporting a Charity every year and in 2015 the Club has chosen to support ABF – The Soldiers Charity.

This inaugural fund raising event for the Club’s nominated Charity for 2015 has been created for a fantastic long weekend of rallying across France, taking on motoring challenges and sampling the finest culinary offerings of the area. All of this in a Car purchased for no more than £750.00

The competitors ( though this is NOT a race) will have their wits and car maintenance skills tested in this weekend of driving across Northern France with each competitor raising a minimum of £250 for the Charity we hope to raise at least £5000 for ABF.

ABF was chosen by The County Club to tie in with the celebration of Guildford playing host to Armed Forces Day in June 2015 and is the current Mayor of Guildford's nominated charity.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity are there to help soldiers, for life. They provide financial assistance to all soldiers and their families when in need. Even when a soldier leaves the Army they are still part of the army family and eligible for help. The scope of ABF’s work is huge. Half of their money is given direct to individuals to help in areas such as debt relief, mobility assistance, education bursaries, carehome fees and respite breaks. The other half is given as grants to other charities.

These are just a few of the ways the ABF helps…

War widow and family financial support  To help soldiers’ immediate families who have suffered a bereavement or who may be experiencing temporary financial difficulty.

Mobility assistance and home modifications -To ensure soldiers and former soldiers have the opportunity to live a full life despite being injured in service.
