Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I began a journey in 2016 which all started over a beer and ended up in me planning the following challenge ..
'On September the 10th, 2016, in the Lake District, starting at the Moot Hall in Keswick, I will be hiking a total of 50 miles in just 24 hours, and if that isn't enough I'm going to be doing it over the 3 highest peaks in England while carrying a Fridge!' You may ask 'why the fridge'? So if I said that it weighs the same as a soldiers back pack, I think things will become a little clearer.
Since then me and Fridge have been out quite a few times and have a few more mountains under our belts, some of which include Haystacks (twice), Sca Fell and Sca FellPike, Helvellyn, Skiddaw and more recently Snowdon.
I originally set out to raise a massive £3000 and to my amazement I surpassed this after the first challenge which was such an incentive to do more. I've now raised over £7000 due to the generosity of the great British public and this has meant that so many people have benefited from my adventures.
If you are one of the many people who have donated then I thank you on behalf of the men and women that you have helped. Without you things would be much more difficult. Please keep doing what you do and continue to support me and others who are trying to help someone else.
Thanks
Matthew aka - The Fridge Hiker
Please give what you can and help to spur me on during one of my challenges as this will go on to help someone who might face challenges every day...Help for Heroes do such a wonderful job in caring for our returning service men and women, but they do need help with funding the programmes that they run which is why I'm doing what I do.
