Story

The first Haywain Pilgrims Quiz was delivered on April 17 and was well received. A fantastic £1,344 was raised on this page for the Pilgrims Hospices against our £1,000 target. Thanks to everybody who took part in the quiz and contributed.

We are running a second quiz on Monday May 4 starting at 7.30 pm. As before, the link is www.mms-360live.tv.

We would not ask for a major contribution if this is your second visit but, if you go to pub quizzes regularly, and pay perhaps £1 or £2 to enter, then please consider making this small donation.

The Bramling Charity Fund (BCF) has cancelled most fund raising events, held on behalf of the Pilgrims Hospices, because of the current lock down. Also social events, like weekly pub quizzes, have stopped. .

The Pilgrims Hospices are staffed by skilled, dedicated, and compassionate  end of life carers, who are just as much front line key workers as NHS staff. The Hospices compliment the NHS, providing  specialist care that the NHS would otherwise have to cover - and they do it so well. Because the BCF and similar groups have had to drastically reduce fund raising, the Hospices' income is drying up. They have had to close their shops and cancel their own major fund raising events. Their vital work has not stopped but they desperately need our help.

Many thanks and keep well.
