Toilet Twinning, established in 2010 as the fundraising arm of major international charity Tearfund, raises funds to enable poor communities to have clean water, a basic toilet and to learn about hygiene. Building toilets in schools enables children, particularly girls, to attend school in safety without fear of being bitten by snakes or assaulted. Here at the Real Food Cafe, Tyndrum, we have now twinned 47 loos in Malawi and we are are looking to hit the target of 100 by the end of 2019. We plan to do this by asking for donations and running a series of fund raising events throughout the year.
