We 're working to bring treatments for Rett Syndrome home

Story

Just Walk 11th May 2013
South Downs in West Sussex

My wife, Beth, believes I've got the better deal getting to go for a walk; she has to stay behind at home and look after three small children under three on her own all weekend including one with Rett Syndrome.

I, I will only stroll through beautiful British country side, for 60km (over 37 miles). It is believed to take between 12 and 16 hours in whatever weather is presented on the day. I will have pain in parts of my body I did not know I had. Just as you believe you have almost reached the end of the track the two biggest hills present themselves to you. My feet will blister and become open wounds and my body will ache for days to come, the only goal I will have is the finish line, knowing there is no other way out, people have sponsored me for this but more so it will go towards the biggest goal of them all, a cure for our little daughter Hannah and all the other girls with Rett Syndrome.

Thank you for your support, sponsorship and for making this journey a little bit easier. No matter who of the two of us will have the easier weekend, you will help both Beth and me to get that little bit closer to find the cure which will open up potential cures for other neurological disorders like Alzheimer and Schizophrenia and more.

On behalf of not only, my sore feet, but more so every little (and big) Rett girl your donation will help, I show my deepest gratitude, you are a legend!
