Story

Remembering our pasts, protecting their futures. ALWAYS

Well hello and welcome to 2018

I'm still here,

I'm still doing crazy things,

and challenging myself to be the best I can be,

2016 was a very traumatic and sad year for me as not only
did I lose my Mother in law Joyce as we begun the year but my own Mum in the August, this all had a marked impact on my life, and I am now even more determined to experience life inside and outside my comfort zone.

So putting the year behind me, 2017 saw me re-visiting two
of my favourite events with Hope 24 in May and the beautiful multi activity Lakeside event around the calming waters of Lake Conniston in June, both events were incredibly WET !!

Then in September I had my Amazon Survival challenge (www.charitychallenge.com/challenge/183/Amazon-Jungle-Survivor-Challenge) it had been a long 18 months waiting for it, so was really looking forward to see how I coped with not only the large number and size of the creepy crawlies, but a week with no modern amenities (that included no mobile phone ) while sleeping in a hammock! I assure you it did not disappoint, mentally I went through hell but WOW how beautiful.

So, onto 2018 any plans?

Well off course,

Hope 24 is a definite, most probably the lakes challenge again, a ‘nice little’ 100k non stop walk through the Wye Valley in August,
several 50k walks in a support role and oh yes a 12 day trekking adventure in PATAGONIA towards the end of the year !!! I really should remind myself that I’m now 57 and overweight lol, but I love my adventures and the fact I can fundraise to help the children at the same time, so I do hope you enjoy following my adventures (look me up on facebook to see more photos) and feel able to support my continued fundraising.

I also, as part of that fundraising, organise several of my
own events (Angels Walk and Angels Abseil) take part in Brighton Pride and do many community events from coffee mornings to supermarket collections.

Please note:

from April 2017 all my fundraising supports the Speak Out Stay Safe service in Sussex (more information here: www.nspcc.org.uk/services-and-resources/working-with-schools/speak-out-stay-safe-service) as I truly belief that the only way we can tackle the main problems facing our youngsters is through education and awareness once they are at school, and as a previously trained volunteer in the service, I would recommend every parent of a Primary school aged child to ask their school to take part, after all its free and provides the children with many life skills as well as being fun

If you’ve read this far thank you, I can almost chat for as
long as I can walk.

Sending love and hugs
