We reconnect people with wildlife to work together for nature’s recovery.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

5 work friends from the Wolverhampton Youth Offending Team are leaving the smoke of the city for a weekend and coming together to climb the mighty Cader Idris mountain in Snowdonia. This area of North Wales is a unique and important habitat for wildlife, and we feel its vital we maintain and promote the natural beauty of this area. To recognise this, we are committed to raising money for the North Wales Wildlife Trust, who mange a number of local reserves in and around the Snowdonia National Park and the wider North Wales area. At a time when the issue of climate change and habitat loss is more important than ever, the work charities such as the NWWT do to protect our native wildlife needs to be celebrated and supported.

5 unlikely climbers will tackle the mighty Cader Idris in May. See what they have to say:

Dennis (the Menace) "i have long had an interest in Wildlife but a mountain climb is not something i have considered. I have been trying to trim down in preparation, but the office biscuits keep getting the better of me. If i get stuck, i will just follow Tom"

(Grumpy) Russ "really looking forward to the challenge. However, i am apprehensive about the others who i will inevitably end up organising and encouraging to the top...which of course i will do with pleasure?"

(Big) Neil "should be interesting. My main fear is having to put up with Brian's constant incoherent dribble, however this will spur me on ahead of him, and i think i may get to the top first"

Brian the (sorry but not publishable) "looking forward to spending some time with the lads, especially Neil. I am a bit frightened but i will stick with Tom and i am sure i will survive".

(Mighty) Tom "I am a bit worried about Brian but have decided that if he becomes distressed we will leave him with a sandwich and just go on without him. Overall, i am sure we will be fine and it's a great opportunity to earn a bit of cash for charity - i am thinking of suggesting we do it in drag to make it a bit more fun"

Dave (the Rave)"No idea what to expect, but if Dennis can do it anyone can. As long as we don't have to dress up"
