During the Spring, my lovely colleague and friend Mrs Haigh very sadly lost her little girl. Despite having to deal with the terrible, debilitating conditions SMA imposed upon her for 14 years, Bethan always had a smile and was able to share her wicked sense of humour. It is Bethan's attitude, outlook and bravery, along with that of her mummy, that has inspired me to do something positive in her memory. We can all find it so easy to take things for granted, simple things that others crave. All Bethan wanted was to have fun nights with her friends watching 'The X Factor', or just simply to walk. So, I'm going to walk. I can't really expect donations for watching 'The X Factor', so on Saturday the 15th of October I will be walking non-stop the 44.1 miles from the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford to the gates of the Northampton School for Girls. Please give what you can...thank you :)
