Story

Over the past few weeks I'm sure we have all felt an overwhelming sense of admiration, gratitude and an immense amount of pride for all those working on the NHS front line. The tireless work that they have been carrying out caring for COVID-19 patients has been nothing short of extraordinary. The way the country has come together to support the NHS and all those involved has been incredible to witness and I've been hugely inspired by many of the stories of people's generosity and good will. In light of all this, I will be aiming to do my little bit in the hope of making a contribution to support those who are out there risking their lives to save us.

On Friday 8th - Saturday the 9th May I will attempt to climb the height of Mount Everest by stepping up on to a 24 Inch box repeatedly until the total height of 29,029 ft has been completed. I will be breaking this challenge into two 12 hour efforts on Friday and Saturday as I aim to complete the 14,515 box step ups needed. This roughly breaks down to be needing to complete just over 600 step ups per hour for each of the 12 hour blocks (Logistics need to be fine tuned). This is going to be a huge challenge, not only physically, but mentally to keep the monotony at bay and lucky for you, you'll be able to enjoy it along side me as I will be attempting to live stream the whole thing on Facebook.

Many of us will know someone who has been affected by corona virus in some way, or someone who is working on the front line right now and your donation will support our local hospitals and NHS staff when they need it the most. I know these are tough times for everyone right now, however any small donation that you might be able to make to support out NHS heroes would be massively appreciated.

Thank you all and look forward to updating you all as I prepare for this challenge.

Stay safe,

Tom
