We enhance the lives of autistic people to enable them to have positive lives

Story

Towards the end of 2017 my 3.5 year old grandson was diagnosed with
autism, and although he is a fit, healthy and very loving boy, he
suffers with his speech, therefore he will have to rely on specialist
help to get him through this period of his life.  Autism Anglia supply this support and are reliant on donations to continue being effective with their work. With this in mind,  I have challenged myself with raising as much money as I can, which will go towards giving autistic children the start in life which they deserve.

Last year I applied for a ballot place in the London Marathon but was unsuccessful, so I decided to do something "off my own bat" in the form of running 1 half marathon every month of 2018, ie 12 in total.

The reason I run, is that 5 years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes which lead me to adopt a much healthier lifestyle, and therefore helping me to control my condition.  I want to use this change in my life to help others by committing to this challenge.

My first run is on the 21st January at Farnborough, with other runs booked as follows:-

  • 25th February Woodford Green Essex
  • 18th March Brentwood Essex CANCELLED
  • 24th March Selsdon Surrey (Croydon)
  • 8th April Bungay Black Dog Suffolk
  • 20th May Hackney Half
  • 10th June St Albans
  • 1st July Leamington Spa
  • 19th August Clacton on Sea
  • 16th September Ipswich.
  • 14th October Leicester.
  • 18th November Snetterton.
  • 16th December Watton.

If one of these events is local to you, I would welcome your support on
the day, to see a smiling face would spur me on no end.

This cause has become close to my heart, and I welcome your support with helping me to raise as much as possible to help these youngsters.  It is a year long challenge for me, and I will be posting updates, so please keep me going by giving me as much as you can.

Thanking you in advance.

Tim Suthers.
