How to tell your story
Write a compelling story that explains why you are raising money and why you care
Your JustGiving Fundraising Page is your shop window for your fundraising, so be sure to tell your story and explain why you care about the charity you are raising money for. Here are our top story writing tips:
1. Set the scene
Talk about the work the charity you are supporting does, and explain how the money you raise will help.
2. Show that you care
Tell your supporters why you cared enough to take action to help, be honest and open.
3. Explain how the money will help
Your charity's website will have great examples for this ("£20 buys a vaccine for one child" etc).
4. Be clear and concise
Keep it short and snappy, it will help supporters connect to you.
5. Use quotes
Use quotes from your charity to help explain their work, you can find impact statements on their website that you will be able to quote.
6. Include links
Add links to other pages (websites, newspaper articles) to help communicate your message.
7. Add photos
A picture speaks a thousand words. Add photos to your Page to make it more engaging.
8. Add a video or livestream
Add a video as a cover photo by adding a YouTube link. Videos really help tell your story and why your cause is so important. You can also livestream directly on your page to show how you are raising money. Find out more here.
