Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been toying with the idea of a mountain-related charity challenge sort of thing for quite some time now. If you know me, you'll possibly have sponsored previous money raising activities, such as my effort in the Edinburgh Marathon in 2011. This time, I've decided to do something more challenging, but slightly more enjoyable than running 26 and a bit spirit-crushing miles.

My plan is to climb the UK's 10 highest mountains in a single weekend in June. I won't be picking out an exact date until nearer the time (weather reasons), however this will definitely take place in June this year.

I aim to start with Ben Lawers beside Loch Tay in the small hours of Friday morning, and finish with Ben Nevis on Sunday evening. In between, I'll be walking about 50 miles, climbing around 18,000 feet and booking in for knee replacement surgery in the very near future.

The full order is:

Friday

Ben Lawers (10th)

Braeriach (3rd)

Cairn Toul (4th)

Sgor an Lochain Uaine (5th)

Saturday

Ben MacDui (2nd)

Cairn Gorm (6th)

Sunday

Aonach Mor (7th)

Aonach Beag (9th)

Carn Mor Dearg (8th)

Ben Nevis (1st)

I'd be hugely grateful if you would sponsor this challenge and therefore help out a very important and undervalued charity.

Thanks.

John-Paul
