We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

In June and July 2010 we will be cycling right across America from Astoria, Oregon to Yorktown, Virginia. It's almost 4,300 miles and we have 51 cycling days to complete it, that's an average of 85miles a day.

The route we'll be taking is known at the TransAmerica route which was first ridden in 1976 to commemorate the bicentennial of America's Declaration of Independence. Since then it has become a very popular trail for coast to coast cyclists. The route will take us through 10 States, 112 counties, over the Rockies to an altitude of 11,500ft, through national parks including Yellowstone and through the desert. We expect to cope with temperatures from  freezing to 120 degrees F.

You may have followed a link from our blog to get to this page but if not you can follow our progress at theseatpost.co.uk.

The actual ride starts on 1st June and we hope to update the blog every day provided we have internet access.

Now you're here please don't leave without making a donation, however small.

Thank you for your support.
